Blog 4: Interview Preparation

 Interview Preparation

1. Regarding my first interview I plan on interviewing Vairon Perez. He works at Atlantic Tax, alongside my older brother. His main focus is marketing therefor it ties in perfectly with my topic. Also my brother highly recommended to interview him since he has experience and working in the field right now. Ive also known him fora while now so the interview will go more smoothly and i know that I can count on him being reliable.

2.
  •  After researching I found that in order to become a marketing manager you need to have some background experience, where is a good place to start? How did you begin?
  •  What is the most challenging assignment you have faced in your career?
  • What are some tips you have found helpful to succeed and improve as a marketing manager?
  • Where do you see this business going in the future?
  • What are some useful resources I can use to begin my career?
  • Depending on how the interview unfolds itself, its how i plan to ask follow up questions.

  • Effective Communicator: Communication skills are a crucial requirement in the marketing field, and although I already consider myself to be a good communicator from past harkness discussions or personal experiences I do believe there is always room for more improvement. Thus this year will be great opportunity for me to practice that skill.

  3. As I was working along side my mentor some question that arose were,What skill is most important in a marketing manager? and What field is it better to go to as a marketing manager?
  4. The most important thing that I gained from this experience is that, if I would like to pursue my career as a marketing manager then it is essential to me to come out of my shell more because it is very crucial to speak to people with ease. Also I need to be a quick on the spot thinker and be very connected to my creative side. A lot of the time my mentor would ask me to come up with ideas for poster to promote the events. Therefore this experience is helping me improve my marketing management skills.
  5. Helping out at the Library and getting a glimpse of what its like to manage and coordinate an event helped me realized that this is something that I really enjoy doing and its something that I see great potential in me therefore this topic (marketing management) is something that I know I want to pursue as a possible career.
